Volunteer at St Chad’s
Volunteering – help us make a difference to local families.
Volunteers are at the heart of our work at St. Chad’s Community Project. They generously give their time, skills and enthusiasm, enabling us to make a difference to thousands of local families. We provide support and training for all our volunteers to help them achieve their goals. There are many ways to volunteer with us, whatever your skills or experience, if you have a heart to help we’d love to hear from you. Simply get in touch.
People start voluntary work for a variety of reasons, whether it’s to give something back to the community, to boost their confidence, as a stepping stone to employment, to meet new people or to learn new skills.
However you get involved, volunteering can be a hugely rewarding personal experience For jobseekers, volunteering gives you the opportunity to gain recent and relevant work experience, boosts your CV and makes you stand out from the crowd – 73% of employers would employ a candidate with volunteering experience over one without and 96% of volunteers report they feel better prepared for employment or education. Volunteers demonstrate to potential employers essential workplace skills: teamwork, communication, people skills, problem solving, task management, timekeeping and organisation.

What is it like to start volunteering at St.Chads?
“I really enjoyed my first day volunteering. It’s a really nice environment, everyone is friendly, I loved it.”
Why made you decide to volunteer?
“Because I haven’t worked for so long it’s a stepping stone for me, and socially as well it’s a chance for me to be out with other people not just at home with the kids. It might sound silly but I feel like I’ve been doing everything for the family and now I’m doing something for me. I want to be a good example to them”
How can I get involved?
We are always looking for new volunteers in a variety of roles within the project.
